Apprenticeship recruitment, employment and support for employers across Hull, the East Riding and the Humber. Guidance for Employers Encompass Select is based just west of Hull, on the north bank of the Humber. We work with employers across the UK, but this is home, and we support organisations in Hull, the East Riding and the wider Humber area. As an Apprenticeship Training Agency, we recruit apprentices, employ them and look after them while they work and train with you. Being local means we are close to the colleges and training providers that serve the area, we understand the sectors that drive it, and we can be on site when it matters. 01 The Humber has a varied economy, and apprenticeship standards now cover most of the roles that employers here recruit for, including: Whatever the role, the first step is matching it to the right apprenticeship standard and level, and finding a training provider that delivers it well locally or online. We advertise your vacancy, screen applicants and set up interviews, drawing on school and college leavers and adults looking to retrain across Hull and East Yorkshire. We become the apprentice’s legal employer. Contracts, payroll, PAYE and HR all sit with us, so the apprentice does not join your headcount. We help you choose an approved training provider, then keep in touch through regular on-site visits and reviews with the apprentice and their manager. 02 Apprenticeship funding is set nationally, so employers in Hull and East Yorkshire have the same entitlements as anywhere else in England. For new starts from 1 August 2026, training for apprentices aged 16 to 24 is fully funded for employers that do not pay the levy, and those employers pay 5% of training costs for apprentices aged 25 and over. Levy payers draw on their levy funds first. Our Apprenticeship Levy guide explains the details, including the incentive payments available for younger apprentices. Locally, the Hull and East Yorkshire Combined Authority has taken responsibility for the Adult Skills Fund from the 2026/27 academic year. That fund pays for adult courses rather than apprenticeships, but it can support pre-employment training and help existing staff build skills alongside an apprenticeship programme. 03 We support employers across Kingston upon Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire, including Beverley, Cottingham, Hessle, Brough, Goole, Driffield, Bridlington, Pocklington, Hornsea and Withernsea, as well as businesses on the south bank of the Humber. Because we are close by, on-site visits and progress reviews are easy to arrange, and we can meet you at your premises to understand the role before we recruit. If your organisation has sites elsewhere in the country, we can support those too. Read our guidance for applicants to find out what to expect, then check our current vacancies. No. We support employers across the UK. Hull and East Yorkshire is our home area, which makes it straightforward for us to visit apprentices and managers on site. Minimum wage rates are the same across the UK. Since 1 April 2026 the apprentice rate has been £8.00 an hour for apprentices under 19 or in their first year, and the government has announced it will rise to £8.31 from April 2027. Apprentices aged 19 or over who have finished their first year must be paid the minimum wage for their age. Our guide to apprenticeship pay in 2026 sets out every rate. Yes. For new starts from 1 August 2026, employers that do not pay the levy have training fully funded for apprentices aged 16 to 24 and pay 5% for apprentices aged 25 and over. Additional payments are available for some younger apprentices. Check GOV.UK for the latest rules before you plan. Under our ATA service, Encompass Select is the legal employer. The apprentice works at your premises under your supervision, while we handle contracts, payroll and HR. If you would rather employ the apprentice yourself, talk to us about which parts of the service you need. Apprenticeships are available at levels 2 to 7, from entry-level roles up to degree and master’s-level programmes, subject to funding rules and provider availability. Foundation apprenticeships are also available for eligible 16 to 21 year olds in sectors such as construction, digital, engineering and manufacturing, health and social care, and hospitality. Tell us about the role you want to fill and we will explain how we can recruit, employ and support an apprentice for your organisation.Apprenticeships in Hull & East Yorkshire
